Learning Goals and Assessments

Learning Goal(s):

  1. Describe and synthesize sociological concepts, principles, and theories used in the study of sociology.
  2. Apply the sociological theory to the study of the social world from multiple levels of analysis
  3. Explain the human experience from a sociological perspective
  4. Analyze and discuss a social institution from the perspective of sociology
  5. Demonstrate the ability to communicate all of the above effectively, both orally and in writing

Goal Assessment(s):

  1. Goals 1-3 will be assessed via the weekly discussions and reading responses students must submit.
    Goals 1 and 4 will be assessed via the midterm assignment.
    Goals 1,2 and 5 will be assessed by the final project.
