Learning Goal(s):

  1. This activity and discussion are to help students compare the effects of relationship structure (being in a monogamous or polygamous relationship) on how functions of the family are experienced at the individual and relationship level.

Goal Assessment(s):

  1. Students will apply four functions of the family to the experience of the same individual within a monogamous relationship (in one case) and a polygamous relationship (in another case).
  2. Students will evaluate the impact of the relationship structure (monogamous or polygamous) on the experience of the functions of families for those participants in the relationships.
