Learning Goal(s):

  1. Learning Goal 1: At the conclusion of this lecture, students should be able to recognize the context in which the Black Lives Matter movement began. Lecture and discussion will assist in attaining this goal.
  2. Learning Goal 2: Students should be able to articulate some of the guiding principles of the Black Lives Matter movement. Lecture and discussion will assist in attaining this goal.
  3. Learning Goal 3: Students should be able to articulate a response to misconceptions that some may have about the Black Lives Matter movement.

  1. Learning Assessment 1: Students will work together to respond to discussion questions either verbally or on paper.
