2. Students will be able to analyze, synthesize, apply, and critique sociological theories.
3. Students will be able to express their understanding of sociological theory in writing, orally, and creatively.

1. Class participation, in-class activities, and three major assignments: group paper comparing, contrasting, and applying Marx and Weber’s theories; individual paper applying a contemporary theory to analyze a film; creative presentation of a theory.
