Time required for each exercise is about 1 hour and 15 min including the time used for completing the exercise and self-grading.   1. To practice using SPSS techniques learned in class (e.g., navigating variable view and data view to obtain necessary information, constructing/recoding/reverse-coding variables, obtaining necessary statistical results, and producing appropriate outputs)
  2. To understand the appropriate statistical test depending on the hypotheses and level of measurement
  3. To get used to interpreting and reporting the results of univariate and bivariate analyses (e.g., proportions, means, standard deviations, independent sample t-test, ANOVA, chi-square test, and Pearson’s correlations).

Goal Assessment(s):

  1. "Exam Practice Questions," which can be also used as exam questions, are provided for assessment of the 3 learning goals. This additional exercise requires students to use the techniques and interpretations practiced throughout the four lab exercises.
