Learning Goal(s):

1. Students will familiarize themselves with the conditions of receiving countries and cities, including local economic growth, ethnic communities, and proximity to home countries.
2. Students will learn theories of international migration. The lecture focuses on neoclassical theory, new economics theory, dual labor market theory, and world system theory.

Goal Assessment(s):

1. Students will have time to think about the process of decision-making by taking the position of migration consultant agency. Students will have to consider various conditions in which different stakeholders are involved in the process.
2. Students will familiarize themselves with various theories of international migration through a short PowerPoint presentation.
