His inequality class is taught as an upper-level elective and usually enrolls between 40-60 undergraduates of various social science majors. In addition to his interests in undergraduate education, his current research focuses on historical patterns of inequality between and within nations. Among his publications, he co-authored "World Economic Trends in the Distribution of Income, 1965-1992" appearing in the American Journal of Sociology (vol. 102, 1997).
