Its objective is to help develop an awareness of how inequality impacts virtually all facets of individual and group life. This course will also introduce you to an array of sociological concepts that will be especially useful if you decide to major in the discipline. By the end of this course you should better understand how race/ethnicity is socially constructed and interconnected with other dimensions of social inequality, like gender and class; define key theoretical concepts and use them to explain existing social arrangements of social inequality. Very importantly, you will be able to relate course material to your own life and communities. ER -
