This form yields the most fruitful learning outcome when students actively review the course content beforehand and identify specific questions they cannot answer. However, Q&amp;A-style review sessions evince severe drawbacks. They atomize individuals from the learning community, fail to help students draw connections across readings, and reinforce the instructor’s authority. To overcome the limitations, I propose a technique to organize review sessions that create a team-based learning community, utilize a topical concept mapping exercise for fostering a broader understanding of the course content, and encourage peer support. I argue that transforming review sessions into collaborative learning opportunities will better prepare students for the exam.</p> ER -
