The interactive game detailed here allows students to "roll" their way through scenarios representing the first three weeks out of prison. Via the game, they will encounter real-life obstacles such as a return to criminal activity (recidivism), homelessness, and/or unemployment. Students will play the game in groups, discuss it with their group members, and then participate in a lecture and discussion focused on the broader ex-offender re-entry problem in modern society. Through the activity and lesson, students will gain greater familiarity with a broad range of systemic obstacles to ex-offender re-entry, and evaluate prisoner re-entry from an individual and societal level.
