This goal will be accomplished through a seminar format. As such, this is your course. Its success will depend on the time, effort, and preparation that you put into the endeavor. We will begin by establishing feminist frameworks through which we will examine various women’s health issues. We will also examine women’s health at the intersections of race, class, and culture. The health issues that we will address include HIV/AIDS, Breast Cancer, Eating Disorders, Mental Health, Women’s Bodies and Reproduction, and Medicine and Medical Technology. While this is not an exhaustive list of women’s health concerns, it does represent a cross-section of some of the most common, poignant, political problems that women face in constructing their health.
