@article{Ovadia_2010, place={Washington DC: American Sociological Association.}, title={SOCI 381: Sociological Theory}, url={https://trails.asanet.org/article/view/soci-381-sociological-theory}, abstractNote={This course has two major goals: (1) to provide a broad survey of some of the major theories in sociology, from its founding in the late 19th century through today; and (2) to teach you how to use these theories in your sociological analyses of current and past social issues. As a survey course, we are going to have to sacrifice a significant amount of depth for breadth, and will also have to move at a fairly quick pace. It is therefore imperative that you keep up with the reading, attend class, and ask questions when things are unclear. Fifteen weeks is not a lot of time to master any subject and sociological theory is particularly ill suited for cramming so do not fall behind! This class is difficult, but I promise that if you put in an honest effort, you will not only learn as much here as you will in any other course you take in college but (dare I say it?) you may even have some fun along the way.}, journal={TRAILS: Teaching Resources and Innovations Library for Sociology}, author={Ovadia, Seth}, year={2010}, month={Apr.} }
