In order to do this, the course will progress through three general topic areas: 1) foundations of social psychology, in which we will examine the historical development of social psychology and its unique theories and perspectives, as well as key foundational concepts such as ’the self’ and ’attitudes’; 2) interpersonal processes, in which we will examine the workings of micro-level phenomena such as attraction, aggression, deviance, etc., and; 3) social processes, in which we will look at macro-level phenomena such as groups dynamics, group stratification and conflict, collective behavior, etc. Ultimately, the information learned in this course will leave you with a better understanding of both sociological and psychological concepts, as well as a higher awareness of how such concepts are relevant to your everyday life, and the overall functioning of the social world.}, journal={TRAILS: Teaching Resources and Innovations Library for Sociology}, author={Kinney, William}, year={2010}, month={Apr.} }
