This exercise is designed to help students develop their sociological imagination. Specifically, students should walk away with an understanding of how one cultural object (i.e., a can of coke) can be interpreted in various ways and how that interpretation is influenced by our personal biographies and the historical moment. This activity can be used to introduce students to several course topics: research methods, culture, deviance, economy, environment, health, global issues, and education. }, journal={TRAILS: Teaching Resources and Innovations Library for Sociology}, author={Medley-Rath, Stephanie}, year={2015}, month={Sep.} }
