@article{Solomon_2010, place={Washington DC: American Sociological Association.}, title={Life Course Analysis of Older Adult}, url={https://trails.asanet.org/article/view/life-course-analysis-of-older-adult}, abstractNote={For the final project, you will be doing a life course analysis of an older adult’s life. You must choose someone who is older than 65 to get a full life-course perspective. You may select someone you know, but be careful about selecting someone you know "too well" who may be tempted to say, "you already know that" in response to a question. A family member who is too close to you may also find it difficult to be fully open about some of his/her behaviors or attitudes. He/she may feel shy about telling you certain things. In addition, you may have a hard time distancing yourself from this person to "objectively" analyze his/her responses. You will conduct an in-depth interview with this person, taking careful notes of his/her responses for your analysis. With the respondent’s permission, you may tape record or videotape your interview. Though not a requirement for this assignment, tape/video recording might help you with your analysis as it would provide your interviewee’s exact responses. You are not expected to have full or exact quotations in your paper. }, journal={TRAILS: Teaching Resources and Innovations Library for Sociology}, author={Solomon, Catherine}, year={2010}, month={Apr.} }
