@article{Misra_2010, place={Washington DC: American Sociological Association.}, title={GRADUATE GENDER SEMINAR}, url={https://trails.asanet.org/article/view/graduate-gender-seminar}, abstractNote={The seminar explores current literature in the sociology of gender. Gender is one of the most central axes of inequality, along with class, race, ethnicity, nationality, and sexuality. Over the past thirty years, feminist scholarship in sociology has truly exploded; gendered understandings of almost every social phenomenon exist. Indeed, I would argue that gender always matters. However, given the limits of a semester, this course will only highlight a number of key areas: feminist theory; feminist methods; sexualities; identities; culture and bodies; work and organizations; work in the global economy; immigration; families and relationships; welfare and welfare reform; crime, law, and punishment; and states and social movements. In addition, these readings are meant to highlight intersectional approaches to gender. }, journal={TRAILS: Teaching Resources and Innovations Library for Sociology}, author={Misra, Joya}, year={2010}, month={Apr.} }
