The project compels students to consider the semester as a whole: its organizing principles and argument, which texts/differences/theories were included and omitted, and the implications of those inclusions and omissions. The project, also, encourages students to adopt a critical stance toward, and to take responsibility for, their educations. I benefit, as well, receiving formal feedback on my instruction and learning from the students’ expertise and exploration. }, journal={TRAILS: Teaching Resources and Innovations Library for Sociology}, author={Fields, Jessica}, year={2010}, month={Apr.} }
