Abstract

The "slicing of the cake" demonstration will teach students to connect their lived experiences to two of the basic concepts in sociology: division of labor and dual labor market/gender stratification. The exercise will provide a sociological framework for students to critically examine, analyze, and evaluate/re-evaluate gender differences.
