  1. 1. To learn the contemporary theories about sexuality and gender identity. 2.To understand how current debates about queer politics are rooted in historical debates about the nature of sexuality.
  2. 3. To become aware of the concept of "heteronormativity" and how it informs understanding of the politics of queer sexuality.
  3. 4. To apply the knowledge gained in this class to life beyond the classroom.
