Abstract

In teaching about hate crimes/hate violence, it can be quite valuable to critically analyze the inequalities that exist in society and how they play out in our lives. Studying inequalities allows us to better understand the broader implications of how prejudice and discrimination are normalized, and by extension, how hate crimes become rampant.
