Learning Goals and Assessments

Learning Goal(s):

1. Students will recognize gendered interactions and norms in their everyday lives
2. Students will establish understanding of sociological concepts that address gender, such as norms, ideology, status, "doing gender," gender identity, gender polarization, sex v. gender, gender socialization, social construction, the "third shift," etc.

Goal Assessment(s):

1. Students will have a diverse range of journal entries looking at gender in various institutions and interactions, i.e. the student should not have an entry on media each time, or family, or at their job; they should include entries on many of these areas
2. Students should have used sociological concepts properly within their reflection responses
