Abstract

Ethics is about informed and individual moral responsibility, not about adherence to more or less rigid professional dictates of appropriate behavior. In this short paper we argue that sociology teaching needs to reflect this position and provide some suggestions for case-based teaching to encourage ethically critical practice.
