Download this resource to see full details
The goal of this project is to enable students to critically analyze image representations of women in the various types of the print media. This critical analysis aims at the student discovering the various messages about femininity, the body, and beauty, and how they differ by race/ethnicity, class, and sexuality. Every image, whether it is an advertisement, a fashion shoot, or a portrait of a famous person tells a specific story and in a specific way. The goal of this project is to familiarize the students with the stories told about female bodies, and the ways in which these stories are told.
