Abstract:

Student peer reviews are a valuable but often under-utilized tool for developing students' analytic, evaluative, and writing skills while simultaneously building a supportive classroom community. The following resource provides an example for a peer review process for a term paper and offers variations for considerations of class size and level. The peer review for a term paper has five parts: rough draft, written feedback, verbal feedback, reflection, and final paper. I describe each of these components in detail and provide a timeline, activities for each component, and issues to consider.
